Building a Brand for a Fashion Designer

Headed to New York Fashion Week

Elijah Meader, Fashion Brand Strategy & Photography

The Challenge:
Elijah Meader had an incredible body of work and a strong social media presence—but as major opportunities approached, he lacked a cohesive brand foundation, portfolio, and website that fully reflected his artistry.

What We Did:

  • Years of brand photography and surreal composite imagery

  • Viral stop-motion and music video content for social media

  • Full brand strategy, visual direction, and website design ahead of New York Fashion Week

The Outcome:
A complete, confident brand ecosystem—imagery, messaging, and website—that positioned Elijah as a serious designer with a fully realized creative world, ready for high-profile opportunities.

Building a Visual Brand for a Fashion Designer Headed to New York Fashion Week

Elijah Meader is a fashion designer and performer creating bold, boundary-pushing designs for men who refuse to blend in.

His work challenges traditional expectations of how men “should” present—bringing feminine influence, theatricality, and classic glamour onto male bodies in a way that feels intentional, elevated, and unapologetic.

When defining his aesthetic, Elijah described it best himself:
Princess Diana meets Lady Gaga meets Marilyn Monroe.

Classic Hollywood elegance meets modern boldness. Masculine and feminine in conversation—not contradiction.

A Long-Term Creative Partnership

Our work with Elijah didn’t start with New York Fashion Week.

For years, we collaborated on:

  • Brand photography of his finished fashion pieces

  • Composite imagery placing his designs into surreal, story-driven environments

  • Short-form social media videos that blended fashion and performance

These visuals helped his social media presence take off. His content was visually cohesive, instantly recognizable, and rooted in a fully formed creative world.

Momentum was there.
What was missing was the foundation to support what came next.

A Viral Moment That Changed the Scale

One project in particular pushed visibility to a new level.

Elijah had created a fully custom costume inspired by Anne Boleyn from the musical SIX. To match the drama of the design, we helped produce a music video of Elijah lip-syncing to a song from the show—combining fashion, performance, and storytelling into one bold visual moment.

The video went viral, bringing Elijah a new wave of attention and reinforcing a core truth:
when visuals align with identity, people pay attention.

Momentum Is Great. Direction Is Better.

Then Came the Call: New York Fashion Week

Not long after, Elijah reached out with big news—he had been invited to be featured at New York Fashion Week.

These moments don’t wait for you to feel ready.

While Elijah had talent, visibility, and strong designs, he didn’t yet have:

  • A cohesive visual brand system

  • Clear positioning around who his work was for

  • A website or portfolio that fully communicated the scope of his artistry

When opportunities arrive quickly, your foundation becomes everything.

The Foundation Behind the Fashion

Talent Opens Doors. Strategy Keeps Them Open.

Layer One: Brand Strategy

We started with strategy.

Through our brand discovery process, we clarified:

  • Elijah’s audience: men who aren’t afraid to stand out

  • His mission: pushing fashion beyond outdated gender expectations

  • His positioning: glamorous, elevated, bold, and intentional

This clarity became the anchor for every design and content decision that followed.

Defining the Visual Identity

Elijah wanted his name to lead the brand—but it needed to function everywhere: on clothing labels, digital platforms, press materials, and large-scale print.

We created a flexible identity system rooted in contrast:

  • A refined, custom-adjusted cursive style for “Elijah”

  • A bold, modern sans serif for “Meader”

  • A logomark built from his initials, designed like a high-end fashion stamp

The visual language leaned into Art Deco and classic Hollywood inspiration, paired with a modern palette:

  • A cool-toned gold for sophistication

  • Pink to bring warmth and glamour

  • Navy to ground the brand

  • A mid-tone teal for a contemporary edge

  • Gold leaf textures for depth and embellishment

Typography and subtle pattern work—houndstooth and polka dots—reinforced the fashion-forward, cinematic feel without overpowering the garments. Below, you can view the stylescape we developed that inspired the final brand.

Layer Two: A Website That Acts as a Home Base

With strategy and identity defined, we designed Elijah’s website as a true home base—something social media alone can’t provide.

Working in Figma, we focused on a structure that was short, intentional, and effective:

  • A homepage that speaks directly to men who refuse to blend in

  • Close-up detail imagery highlighting craftsmanship

  • Clear pathways to view his portfolio

  • Brand storytelling that builds connection

  • Simple inquiry and contact flows

  • Strategic references to New York Fashion Week for visibility and SEO

Not every website needs to be a long excursion. This one was designed to hold attention, communicate clearly, and let the work lead.

Layer Three: Imagery That Carries the Brand

Imagery supports every page—not just the portfolio.

By combining existing brand photography with thoughtful layout and hierarchy, the visuals help visitors imagine:

  • What it feels like to experience Elijah’s work

  • The detail and scale of his designs

  • The world his brand invites them into

Strong imagery makes it easier for people to say yes.

A Brand Ready for Big Opportunities

Elijah entered New York Fashion Week with more than beautiful garments.

He had:

  • A cohesive brand identity

  • A website that reflected his artistry and ambition

  • Visual consistency across platforms

  • A foundation ready for press, collaboration, and growth

The difference wasn’t talent.
It was clarity.

When Opportunity Knocks, Your Brand Should Already Be Ready

Elijah’s story is a reminder that big moments don’t arrive on a schedule.

They come fast—and when they do, your brand either supports you or holds you back.

Social media can spark interest.
Strong visuals can turn heads.
But strategy, a website, and cohesive imagery working together are what allow opportunities to carry you forward.

That’s the work beneath the work.
And it’s what makes everything else possible.
