Preparing Your Young Dancer for Their Photoshoot
Building trust with young dancers is essential to capturing their best moments. To create a calm and focused environment, itās important for parents to stay back during the shoot. While parental encouragement is invaluable, too many voices or distractions can make it challenging for young dancers to focus, often resulting in wandering eyes or hesitation. Allowing the photographer to establish a rapport ensures we gain their trust and attention, leading to more natural and confident expressions in the photos.
Preparation can make all the difference in a successful shoot. Here are some tips to help your child feel confident and ready:
- Practice Poses in Advance: Introduce your dancer to the poses beforehand so they feel more comfortable.
- Walk Them Through the Process: show them some of our videos so they can see what it will look like on set! Get them excited and explain that the lights flash and then the camera will take a beautiful photo of them that you can hang on the wall.
- Positive Reinforcement: Encourage them and remind them to have funātheyāll shine when they feel supported.
