This project wasn’t for any real client, which we’re sure you can tell by the fact that it’s written by a Star Wars character. But Amber is a huge Star Wars fan and wanted to share her love of the franchise with other artists on May the 4th. She began this piece in 2018 as an acrylic painting and reworked it in 2023 as a photographic composite. She was inspired by adding boba into the scene (a callout to another Star Wars character) and making Vader feel a bit more personal, so you get some insight to his personal character outside of the empire. Brooke did the design work, adding the fun neon letters with some humor to the display as well. As for tools we used to create this piece, it’s done completely in Photoshop using stock imagery and digital brush work.
